v0.9.0 — Guild Bank and Tougher Late Eras
A guild bank and guild tribute in the Bazaar, repeatable epics, melee while casting, Gate for every class, and Gates of Discord, Omens of War and Dragons of Norrath creatures that fight back far harder.
Additions
- A guild bank in the Bazaar: a guild treasurer stands in the main Bazaar, near /loc -779, -49. Right-click the treasurer to open your guild's bank, the bank window the game has always had, with its deposit and main areas and a permission on each item. Your guild leader sets in the guild window what each rank may do: see the bank, deposit, withdraw, promote items and change item permissions, and the server holds everyone to those rights. Taking an item out needs your rank's withdraw right plus the item's own permission, and only a banker can take items from the deposit area. Deposits refuse NO DROP items, bags that are not empty, temporary items, a second copy of a Lore item, items holding an attuned augment and evolving items. Stay close to the treasurer while you use it, and hail the treasurer to hear whether the bank is open. The bank works only in the main Bazaar, not in a Bazaar copy, a guild cannot be disbanded while its bank holds items, and the Guild Hall no longer has a bank. Patch your client: the right-click does nothing without it.
- Guild tribute in the Bazaar: Melody the Singer of Great Deeds stands in the Bazaar, near /loc -762, -175. Right-click Melody to open the guild tribute window, which now lists 23 guild tributes; it was empty before. A guild's tribute is paid with guild favor each period and turns itself off when the favor runs out. Turning it on is refused when the guild cannot pay the first period or no member is opted in. An opted-in member pays their share once per period, and logging in again the same period costs nothing more. Donating platinum or an item needs you near the guild tribute master, and changing the guild's tribute needs your rank's guild tribute right.
- Cassius of the Bare-Steel, the Disenchanter: hand Cassius in the Bazaar, near /loc -643, -41, a Legendary item and it comes back Enchanted; hand him an Enchanted item and it comes back plain. One step per hand-in, and he cannot undo it. Take out augments and ornaments first, empty any bag, and give him one item from a stack at a time. Bound items stay bound and charged items come back with full charges.
- Every epic is repeatable: once you finish a class's 2.0, you can do that epic again on the same character, as often as you like. Start over the way the walkthrough's "Repeat" line for your class says; where it starts with a hail, the NPC asks you to say begin again first, so a curious hail never resets you. Bonus chests still open once per character. The Bard's Prismatic Dragon Blade and Blade of Vesagran are no longer Lore, so you can hold both.
- Eight missing epic NPCs are back: #Gilfal in the Southern Desert of Ro, #Keelee Rayin in the Oasis of Marr, #Shin Master Grubbus in the Rathe Mountains, #Biddliss Sperandu in Steamfont, Yama Twerik and his Inactive Clockwork in Steamfont, Soulbinder Grunson in East Freeport (who binds you again) and #Azibelle Spavin with the coven in South Karana now spawn, so the Paladin, Necromancer, Wizard and Druid steps that needed them can be finished.
- Planes of Power raid bosses drop two shared augments: every Planes of Power raid boss now also drops two different augments from the set Kerafyrm, Lord Inquisitor Seru and Zebuxoruk drop, on top of its usual loot. Kerafyrm's are the most likely, then Seru's, then Zebuxoruk's.
- Masters of Sand everywhere: the Echoes of the Past are now called Master of Sand, with their zone shown under the name. New Masters of Sand stand at the arrival points of fourteen later zones, from the Abysmal Sea and Dranik's Scar to Lavaspinner's Lair and Tirranun's Delve, and beside Gamesh in Barindu, Grand Historian Gersh in Dranik's Scar and Grand Historian Rygua in the Ruined City of Dranik for the Sewers of Nihilia, Dranik's Hollows and the Catacombs and Sewers of Dranik. Each offers a private copy of its zone; you still need the progression to enter.
- Dragons of Norrath missions come to life: many missions whose scripted events never ran now work: fragments appear, warlords and couriers come, waves start and drops fall. That covers Scrap Metal, Holy Hour, The Creator, Plunder the Hoard, Lost Comrades, Grounding the Drakes, Lavaspinner Hunting, The Drake Menace, The Gilded Scroll and more. In Fanning the Flames, Tirranun now resets cleanly after a wipe.
- The morituri-black skin: a second optional skin with compact labelled buff and song windows and no title strips on spell and hot-button bars. Choose it with /loadskin morituri-black; the morituri skin stays as it was.
- Spoils: select all and always for all: on the PENDING tab, click the ALL heading to tick every row you can see, and the RULE heading to set ALWAYS on every ticked row (or every visible row when none is ticked). A bulk DESTROY tells you how many items it will destroy and only goes ahead on a second click.
- Patch your client: the guild bank, the morituri-black skin, the Spoils headings and fixes, the waypoint loc change, the item window and Spell Bar 2 fixes, and the MacroQuest fixes all come down with The Imperial Courier. Press PATCH in the launcher before you play.
Balance
- Gates of Discord, Omens of War and Dragons of Norrath fight back: creatures of level 65 and up in these zones, Lavastorm and the Muramite Proving Grounds trials have five times their health, hit three times as hard and can flurry, raids, missions and expeditions included. They are still meant to be soloable, but bring better gear. Timed trials keep their timers, so they need far more damage to finish in time. A charmed creature keeps its ordinary health and damage. Experience and loot per kill are unchanged.
- Melee while casting: you no longer stop swinging when you cast. Auto-attack, off-hand and double attacks, procs and ripostes carry on through any spell, for every class. Ranged attacks and autoskills still wait for the cast to end.
- Gate for every class: every class can buy Gate in the General AA tab at level 1 for 5 AA points. It sends you to your bind point after a 2 second cast, with a one-minute reuse.
- Every proc on your weapon fires on its own: a weapon's own proc and each augment's proc now roll separately on every hit, so an augment in a later socket fires at its full rate and one hit can fire several procs. Pets' weapons work the same way.
- Hundred Hands Effect speeds up bows: it now shortens a bow's attack delay, as it already did for other weapons. A bow can shoot as fast as once every half second, and bow procs are rolled less often per shot as the bow gets faster, so they keep the same rate per minute.
- Staff Block works: with a Two Hand Blunt weapon in your primary hand, Staff Block now gives a chance to block attacks from the front: 25% at the Monk ability's top rank and 5% for the caster version. A hero with both counts only the Monk one.
- /who all lists up to 100 players, up from 20. Add a zone, class, level range or name to narrow a bigger search.
- Summon Group cannot reinforce a fight: if anyone in your group or raid is in combat in your zone, Summon Group will not activate, and a refused attempt does not start its reuse timer.
- Shorter Dragons of Norrath lockouts: repeat a Dragons of Norrath group mission 30 minutes after the last one instead of 45, and every Dragons of Norrath raid after 3 hours instead of about 3 to 5 days. A lockout you already have runs out at its old time.
- Dragons of Norrath rewards match Live: several missions give Live's reward points, among them Lavaspinner Hunting at 68 and up (35, was 15), Kessdona's Perch and Reflections of Silver (9, was 6) and Volkara's Bite (11, was 8). Drake Fangs drop at the intended rate in The Drake Menace and Grounding the Drakes, and no longer outside the missions.
- Anguish opens for your other characters: once any character on an account has finished all six Muramite Proving Grounds raid trials and Taromani has granted her protection, every character on that account can open the door to Anguish. The medals, resistance bonus and Seal of Mastery stay with the character who earned them.
- Leaving Tipt and Vxed: if your account has finished Gates of Discord, the obelisk exits in Tipt and Vxed let you out. The old keys still work too.
- Destruction advances after four cycles or fifteen minutes: the moment your group destroys its twenty-fourth opponent, the adds stop and the Master becomes vulnerable with a fresh fifteen minutes. Survive the full fifteen-minute assault without reaching twenty-four and the Master still comes out instead of the trial failing. The trial reports progress every six kills.
- Waypoint locs point to what you have not found: the waypoint window now shows a loc only for waypoints you have not unlocked yet, where their rune circle stands. Once you unlock one, its loc is gone the next time you open the window.
- Summoning creatures pace themselves: a creature that summons you spaces its summons further apart as the fight goes on, settling at one every 30 seconds.
- Creatures that switch targets reach the back line: when an attack such as Tail Wrack or Wave of Death makes a creature drop the players it hit, it now turns on someone else anywhere in the fight, casters and healers included, and may summon them.
Fixes
- Omens of War augments that fit type 7 or type 8 sockets now also fit the type 2 sockets found throughout Omens gear, and six LDoN point augments now fit type 2 and type 3 sockets. Existing copies work without replacing them.
- Zones in Omens of War instances, most recently the Forgotten Temple of Taelosia, no longer crash after an NPC dies, and a crash in Anguish encounters is fixed.
- Leftover or spare epic items no longer move you forward or back in any class's epic or pay their reward again, and epic spawn lockouts now apply only to the player who set them off, so one player no longer uses a spawn up for everyone else.
- Spell Bar 2's right-click chooser no longer stops responding after many uses.
- Offline traders' stands in the Bazaar now list their items, and buying from them works.
- Ju`rek the Corrupted now calls all five of his harsh-wind waves, not only the first.
- High Priest Diru Riwirn, Gazak Klelkek and Aganetti the Keeper open their Gates of Discord instances as they say they will.
- A ctrl+right-click bag swap now follows the same item rules as moving an item by hand.
- Item windows no longer stack their augment slots or the "Modified" box on top of the stat list.
- MacroQuest no longer leaves a blank line in chat each time you zone, and E3Next with MacroQuest no longer freezes the game as you enter the world.
- The Spoils pick list opens properly again instead of drawing as a thin line, rows already handled leave the PENDING list, and a row set to ALWAYS saves its rule when you press a BULK button with nothing ticked.
- Guild tribute donations take the payment first and refuse items worth no favor; only the guild leader can change the guild's URL and channel, and the guild leader rank's own permissions can no longer be changed.
