v0.12.0 — Master of Sand Difficulty Tiers
Hard, Really Hard and Very Hard Master of Sand instances with bigger rewards and boss mount finds; an instant Gate AA; stronger heroic stats on Legendary late-era gear; and a smoother map.
Additions
- Choose your Master of Sand difficulty: Respawning and Non-Respawning instances each offer Normal, Hard, Really Hard and Very Hard, with no entry requirements. Hail the Master of Sand for a short legend of each tier; entering the instance explains its bonuses, enemy strength, drops and mounts. All tiers share their kind's lockout: 30 minutes Respawning, six hours Non-Respawning. Normal is unchanged.
- Enemies scale to your group: enemies below your group's highest level rise to it, named two levels higher, and their strength follows your gear and AAs (not buffs). They never fall back, and never become weaker than normal. Con, mez and charm limits follow the group level, so at 70 AE mez and charm still work on ordinary enemies.
- Strength floors: Really Hard enemies fight at least like level 60. Very Hard enemies fight like level 80 at least, named and bosses like level 82: Very Hard is built for fully geared, high-AA heroes.
- Tougher enemies: on Hard / Really Hard / Very Hard, ordinary enemies have 1.75x / 3.5x / 6x health and named 5x / 10x / 20x, with 3x / 5x / 8x melee damage for ordinary enemies and 3x / 5x / 12x for named. No single melee hit goes over 40,000. Very Hard bosses swing at least every 2 seconds, flurry more, can rampage onto a second player and cast spells five times as strong. Gates of Discord and Omens of War zones add more on Really Hard and Very Hard.
- Bigger rewards: experience and AA experience rise to 8x / 15x / 25x (the per-kill cap still applies) and drop chances to 3x / 6x / 10x. Really Hard makes every upgradable drop Enhanced or better with a 15% Legendary chance; Very Hard raises that to 55%.
- Mount and glamour finds: each player credited with a named or boss kill rolls for a mount (10% / 15% / 25%) and a Token of Shifting Glamour (1.25% / 2.5% / 5%). In raid zones only the final boss rolls, at four times the chance, so on Very Hard it guarantees a mount. At most one mount per instance; flying mounts are announced to the world.
- Fewer ordinary enemies: the harder tiers keep about one in two / three / four ordinary spawn points. Named, rare and quest spawns stay, and scripted zones such as Vex Thal, Txevu and the Temple of Veeshan keep all their enemies.
Balance
- Battle Frenzy: the Cleric ability's reuse drops from 5 minutes to 3.
- Gate AA: instant, and your gate no longer collapses. Reuse stays one minute, and it still fails while stunned, mezzed, feared, silenced or in a zone that blocks it.
- Mastery of the Past ends at rank 9: ranks 10–21 did nothing and are gone; rank 9 now covers spells up to level 71. Points spent past rank 9 come back (108 for all twelve).
- Kerafyrm's Prismatic Familiar: its 100–350% bonus now also boosts the hit of your single-target procs and disciplines that deal spell damage.
- Fearless for everyone: Fearless, Warlord's Resolve, Undaunted Fury and Dread Incarnate are now one ability, Fearless, trainable by every class for 6 points with no prerequisite. Points spent on the others beyond 6 are refunded. If a refund puts you over the unspent AA point limit, AA experience pauses until you spend some.
- AA descriptions: about 250 AA descriptions now give each rank's real numbers, and no longer list old training levels. The abilities themselves are unchanged.
- Legendary heroic stats: Legendary gear and augments from Gates of Discord, Omens of War and Dragons of Norrath now have heroic stats of at least 40%, 50% and 60% of the matching stat. Only heroic stats an item already has go up, including gear you already own.
Fixes
- Pyromancy, Cryomancy, Arcomancy and Envenomed Blades no longer keep every old rank's buff. Click the ability once to clear extra ranks you already wear.
- Warden Hanvar's guards in Anguish come back 2 minutes after dying or sacrificing themselves, until the fight's 20th guard kill.
- All your own epic click effects stack, including one class's 1.5 and 2.0.
- Champion's Aura and Myrmidon's Aura stack with Blessing of the Faithful.
- The map window stutters less while you run with it open (needs the latest client files).
- Txevu loads quickly again, and the Ancient Cragbeast Matriarch starts with her six Bearers' powers as designed.
- Hastened AA recasts show correctly for heroes with many AAs.
- AA descriptions list every class's own copy with its own /alt toggle number (needs the latest client files).
- Tacvi no longer crashes when the Living Phylactery dies in the Tunat`Muram Cuu Vauax fight.
- Several scripted events in Anguish, the Plane of Storms, the Feerrott, the Great Divide, Riftseekers' Sanctum, the Ring War and the Paladin epic no longer crash their zone when someone they track dies or leaves.
